Packing and Moving a TV, the safe way

You’re moving, that beautiful flat screen TV you’ve worked so hard for needs to be kept safe during the big move. This task should not be taken lightly, getting the proper supplies, to safely crate your TV, should be a priority.

Once you have hired Rainforest Moving and Storage for your local Vancouver Move, you should inquire about boxes or our eco-friendly rental boxes. Rainforest moving does sell a variety of Tv box sizes and bubble wrap to suit your individual needs. As top-tier Vancouver Movers, here are some tips on how to pack your TV.

POWER CORD

Removing the power cord should be the first step in preparing the TV for your Vancouver movers. Make sure you put the power cord aside, you will need to pack it in an accessible box for later.

REMOVE TV FROM BASE

If your TV is wall mounted this won’t be necessary. However, if its on a stand, the base is most likely attached. There are usually 2-4 screws on the back of the TV. Remove these screws and the TV should lift right off the base. Place the base aside with the power cord and remote control.

PROTECTING YOU TV

Rainforest Moving pros recommend wrapping your TV with bubble wrap. After wrapping your TV generously with bubble wrap, use tape to hold the wrap on. A TV is a valuable item, you should use the proper materials to pack it. If you don’t have the above materials on hand, a thick blanket can also be used to protect your TV.

TIME TO BOX THE TV

Gently place the TV into the box. Keeping the TV upright, use more bubble wrap to fill the air space in the box, making the tv snug. Tape the box lid closed, its now ready for your Vancouver movers to take away.

PACK HARDWARE INTO A BOX

Put the base, remote and power cord, with corresponding internet and cable boxes together in 1-2 moving boxes. You will need all this on the ready for your internet and cable provider in your new home.

Your TV is now packed and ready to move!
